The Moon

Full Moon occurs on  2nd at h. 10–52 I.S.T 

Last Quarter occurs on 10th at h. 14–56 I.S.T

New Moon occurs on 17th  at h. 16–30 I.S.T

First Quarter occurs on 24th at h. 07–25 I.S.T

   

The Lunar Crescent becomes first visible after the New Moon day in the evening of 18th.

The Moon is at Apogee or farthest from the Earth on 6th.The Moon is at Perigee or nearest to the Earth on 18th.

The Moon passes about 4º south of Neptune after midnight of 2nd i.e. on 3rd, about ½º south of Mars on 6th, about 3½º south of Uranus on 7th, about 4½º north of Venus on 14th, about ½º south of Uranus on 18th, about 6½º north of Mercury on 19th, about 1½º south of Jupiter on 25th , about 2½º south of Saturn on 26th, about 8º north of Venus on 26th and about 4º south of Neptune on 30th.

The Earth

The Earth is at Autumnal Equinox on 22nd.

The Planets

Visibility of Planets:

Mercury: The planet is too close to the Sun to be visible on 1st of the month. Thereafter it becomes visible from 2nd in the evening in the western sky after sunset and it sets about ½ hour to 1 hour after sunset for the remaining days of the month. The planet is at Aphelion or farthest from the Sun in its orbit on 19th.

Venus: The planet rises about 2 hours to 2½ hours after local midnight throughout the month.

Mars: The planet rises after sunset throughout the month. It rises about 2½ hours to 2 hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it upto third quarter of the month and about 1½ hours to 1 hour after it for the remaining days of the month. Its motion becomes Retrograde with respect to the Earth from 10th.

Jupiter: The planet sets about 1½ hours to 1 hour after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about 1 hour to ½ hour after it upto second quarter of the month, about ½ hour after local midnight time to close to it upto third quarter of the month and from close to local midnight time to ½ hour before it for the remaining days of the month. The motion of the planet becomes Direct with respect to the Earth from 13th.

Saturn: The planet sets after local midnight throughout the month. It sets about 2 hours to 1½  hours after local midnight upto second quarter of the month, about 1½ hours to 1 hour after it upto third quarter of the month and about 1 hour to ½ hour after it for the remaining days of the month. The motion of the planet becomes Direct with respect to the Earth from 29th.

Uranus: The planet rises after sunset throughout the month. It rises about 3 hours to 2½ hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2½ hours to 2 hours after it upto third quarter of the month and about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it for the remaining days of the month.

Neptune: The planet rises from about ½ hour after sunset to close to sunset time upto first quarter of the month, being in Opposition with the Sun on 12th. Thereafter the planet sets from close to sunrise time to 1 hour before it for the remaining days of the month.

Conjunction of Planets:

Venus passes about 8½0 south of Pollux (Punarbasu) on 1st.

Mercury passes about ½0 north of Spica (Chitra) on 22nd.
