Sky Chart For The Month of November, 2023 ASTRONOMICAL BULLETIN FOR NOVEMBER 2023 The Moon
The Moon passes about 1º north of Venus on 9th, about 2½º south of Mars on 13th, about 2º south of Mercury on 14th, about 3º south of Saturn on 20th just after sunset, about 1½º south of Neptune on 22nd, about 3º north of Jupiter on 25th, about 3º north of Uranus on 26th.
The Planets
Visibility of Planets: Mercury: The planet is too close to the sun to be visible upto 12th of the month. On 13th it become visible in the western sky, it sets about ½ hour to 1 hour after sunset upto third quarter of the month and about 1 hour to 1½ hours after it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is at Aphelion or farthest to the Sun in its orbit on 6th. Venus: The planet rises about 2½ hours to 3 hours after local midnight throughout the month. The planet is at perihelion or nearest to the Sun in its orbit on 28th. Mars: The planet is too close to the Sun to be visible. The planet is in conjunction with Sun on 18th of the Month. Jupiter: The planet sets close to Sunrise time to about 1 hour before sunrise upto second quarter of the month, about 1 hour to 1½ hours before it upto third quarter of the month and about 1½ hours to 2 hours before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Opposition with the sun on 3rd. Saturn: The planet sets about 1 hour to ½ hour after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about ½ hour after local midnight to close to local midnight upto second quarter of the month, Thereafter the planet sets close to local midnight to about ½ hour before local midnight upto third quarter of the month and about ½ hour to 1 hour before it for the remaining days of the month. The motion of the planet becomes Direct with respect to earth from 4th. The planet is in Quadrature with Sun on 23rd. Uranus: The planet rises about ½ hour after sunset to close to sunset time upto second quarter of the month, Thereafter the planet sets close to sunrise time to about ½ hour before sunrise upto third quarter of the month and ½ hour to 1 hour before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Opposition with the sun on 13th. Neptune: The planet sets about 2½ hours to 2 hours after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it upto third quarter of the month and about 1½ hours to ½ hour after it for the remaining days of the month.
Conjunction of Planet: Mercury passes about 2½º north of Antares (Jyestha) on 16th. Venus passes about 4½º north of Spica (Chitra) on 28th.
