The Moon

Last Quarter occurs on 6th at h 19-18 I.S.T.

New Moon occurs on 14th at h 23-25 I.S.T.

First Quarter occurs on 22nd at h. 08-59 I.S.T

Full Moon occurs on 29th  at h 01-54 I.S.T.

 

 

The Lunar Crescent becomes first visible after the New Moon day in the evening of 15th.

The Moon is at Apogee or farthest from the Earth on 10th and at Perigee or nearest to the Earth on 26th.

The Moon passes about 3½º north of Jupiter on 2nd, about 3º north of Uranus on 2nd before midnight, about 6½º north of Venus on 10th, about ½º south of Mercury on 14th, about 1º south of Mars on 15th, about 3º south of Saturn on 24th, about 1½º south of Neptune on 26st, about 3º north of Jupiter on 29th, about 3º north of Uranus on 30th.


Eclipse

 

Solar Eclipse: Annular solar eclipse will occur on 14th October. The eclipse begins at 20-34 I.S.T., 14th October and ends at 02-26 I.S.T., 15th October. Annular phase begins at 21- 42 I.S.T., 14th October and ends at 01-17 I.S.T., 15th October. The eclipse will not be visible in India.

Lunar Eclipse: The partial lunar eclipse will occur on 29th October. The eclipse begins at 01-05 I.S.T. and ends at 02-24 I.S.T. The eclipse will be visible from beginning to end from all places of India.

The Planets

Visibility of Planets 

Mercury: The planet rises about 1 hour before sunrise upto 6th of the month.  From 7th planet is too close to the Sun to be visible. The planet is in Superior Conjunction with Sun on 20th of the month.

Venus:  The planet rises about 2 hours to 2½ hours after local midnight throughout the month.  The planet is in Greatest Western Elongation of about 46° from the Sun on 24th of the month.

Mars:  The planet is too close to the Sun to be visible.

JupiterThe planet rises about 2 hours to 1½ hours after sunset upto first quarter of the month, about 1½ hours to 1 hour after it upto third quarter of the month and about 1 hour after it close to sunset time for the remaining days of the month.

Saturn: The planet sets about 3 hours to 2½ hours after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about 2½ hours to 2 hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it upto third quarter of the month about 1½ hours to 1 hours after it for the remaining days of the month.

Uranus: The planet rises about 2½ hours to 2 hours after sunset upto first quarter of the month, 2 hours to 1½ hours after it upto third quarter of the month and 1½ hours to ½ hour after it for the remaining days of the month.

NeptuneThe planet sets about ½ hour to 1 hour before sunrise upto first quarter of the month, about 1 hour to 2 hours before it upto third quarter of the month about 2 hours to 3 hours before it for the remaining days of the month.

 

 

Conjunction of Planet:

Mercury passes about 2½º north of Spica (Chitra) on 2nd.

Venus passes about 2½º south of Regulus (Magha) on 10th.

Mercury passes about 3½º north of Spica (Chitra)  on 18th.

Mercury passes just south of Mars on 29th.
