ASTRONOMICAL BULLETIN FOR JUNE 2024 The Moon
The Moon passes justsouth of Neptune on 1st, about 2½0 North of Mars on 3rd, about 40 north of Uranus on 5th, about 4½0 north of Jupiter on 5th, about 4½0 north of Mercury on 5th, about 4½0 north of Venus on 6th, just north of Saturn on 27th, about ½0 north of Neptune on 28th. The Earth The Earth is at Summer Solstice on 21st. The PlanetsVisibility of Planets: Mercury: The planet sets about 1 hour before sunrise upto 2nd of the month. From 3rd planet is too close to the Sun to be visible. From 23rd of the month the planet becomes visible in the western sky after sunset. Thereafter the planet sets about ½ hour to 1 hour after sunset for the remaining days of the month. The planet is at Perihelion or nearest to the Sun in its orbit on 13th. The planet is in Superior Conjunction with Sun on 14th . Venus: The planet is too close to the sun to be visible upto 27th of the month. From 28th it become visible in the western sky, it sets about ½ hour after sunset for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Superior Conjunction with the Sun on 4th. Mars: The planet rises about 2 hours to 1½ hours after local midnight throughout the month. Jupiter: The planet is too close to the sun to be visible upto 2nd of the month. From 3rd it become visible in the western sky, it rises about ½ hour to 1 hour before sunrise upto first quarter of the month, about 1 hour to 1½ hours upto third quarter of the month and about 1½ hours to 2 hours before it for the remaining days of the month. Saturn: The planet rises about ½ hour after local midnight time to close to local midnight time upto first quarter of the month, close to local midnight time to about ½ hour before it upto second quarter of the month, about ½ hour to 1 hour before it upto third quarter of the month and about 1 hour to 1½ hours before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Quadrature with the Sun on 9th. The motion of the planet becomes Retrograde with respect to the Earth from 30th. The motion of the planet becomes Direct with respect to Earth from 31st. Uranus: The planet rises about 1 hour to 1½ hours before sunrise upto first quarter of the month, about 1½ hours to 2 hours before it upto second quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 2½ hours before it upto third quarter of the month and about 2½ hours to 3 hours before it for the remaining days of the month. Neptune: The planet rises about 1 hour to ½ hour after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about ½ hour after local midnight time to close to local midnight time upto second quarter of the month, close to local midnight time to ½ hour before it upto third quarter of the month and about ½ hour to 1 hour before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Quadrature with the Sun on 20th. Conjunction of Planet: Venus passes about 5½0 north of Aldebaran (Rohini) on 1st. Mercury passes about ½0 south of Jupiter on 4th. Mercury passes about 5½0 north of Aldebaran (Rohini) on 8th. Mercury passes about ½0 north of Venus on 17th. Mercury passes about 50 south of Pollux (Punarvasu) on 29th.
