The Moon

Full Moon occurs on   6that h. 00–42 I.S.T 

Last Quarter occurs on 13th at h. 11–54 I.S.T

New Moon occurs on 21stat h. 12–11 I.S.T

First Quarter occurs on 28th at h. 13–46 I.S.T

 

 

The Lunar Crescent becomes first visible after the New Moon day in the evening of 22nd.

The Moon is at Perigee or nearest to the Earth on 3rd and 30th. The Moon is at Apogee or farthest from the Earth on 15th.


The Moon passes about 2º south of Jupiter before midnight of 8th, about 2½ºsouth of Saturn on 9th, about 4½º south of Neptune in the early hours of 13th, about 3ºsouth of  Mars on 13th, about 4º south of Uranus on 17th, about½º north of Venus on19th and about 4º south of Mercury on 22nd.

Eclipse 

Annular Eclipse of the Sun: The phenomenon will occur on 21st June, 2020. The eclipse begins at h.09–16 I.S.T. and ends  at h.15–04 I.S.T. The eclipse will be visible in India.

The Earth

The Earth is at Summer Solstice on 21st.

The Planets

Visibility of Planets:

Mercury: The planet sets about 1½ hours to 1 hour after sunset upto 22ndof the month. Thereafter it becomes too close to the Sun to be visible for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Greatest Eastern Elongation of about 23½° from the Sun on 4th.The motion of the planet becomes Retrograde with respect to the Earth from 18th. The planet is at Aphelion or farthest from the Sun in its orbit on 23rd.

Venus: The planet is too close to the Sun to be visible from the beginning of the month and remains so upto7th. Thereafter it becomes visible on 8th in the eastern sky and rises about ½ hour to 2 hours before sunrise for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Inferior Conjunction with the Sun on 3rd. The motion of the planet becomes Direct with respect to the Earth from 25th.

Mars: The planet rises from close to local midnight time to ½ hour before it upto third quarter of the month and about ½ hour to 1 hour before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Quadrature with the Sun on 6 th.

Jupiter: The planet rises after sunset throughout the month. It rises about 3 hours to 2½ hours after sunset upto first quarter of the month, about 2½ hours to 2 hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 1½  hours after it upto third quarter of the month and about 1½ hours to 1 hour after it for the remaining days of the month.

Saturn: The planet rises after sunset throughout the month. It rises about 3½ hours to 3 hours after sunset upto first quarter of the month, about 3 hours to 2½ hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2½ hours to 2  hours after it upto third quarter of the month and about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it for the remaining days of the month.

Uranus: The planet rises after local midnight throughout the month. It rises about 3 hours to 2½ hours after local midnight upto first quarter of the month, about 2½  hours to 2 hours after it upto second quarter of the month, about 2 hours to 1½ hours after it upto third quarter of the month and from about 1½  hours to 1 hour after it for the remaining days of the month.

Neptune: The planet rises about ½ hour after local midnight to close to it upto first quarter of the month, from close to local midnight time to ½ hour before it upto second quarter of the month, about ½ hour to 1 hour before it upto third quarter of the month and about 1 hour to 1½ hours before it for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Quadrature with the Sun on 11th. Its motion becomes Retrograde with respect to the Earth from 23rd.

Conjunction of Planets:

Venus passes about 5º north of Aldebaran (Rohini) on 8th.

Mars passes about 1½º south of Neptune on 12th.
